Agastache foeniculum (Anise Hyssop)

A pollinator favorite with a sweet licorice scent, Anise Hyssop is a hardy perennial that brings long-lasting blooms and constant garden visitors. Spikes of soft lavender-purple flowers appear from mid-summer into fall, attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds in abundance. The aromatic leaves can even be used in teas or as a fragrant addition to bouquets.

This adaptable plant thrives in full sun and medium to dry soils, making it an easy, low-maintenance choice for home gardens. It forms neat clumps, reseeds lightly, and provides four seasons of interest — flowers in summer, seedheads for birds in fall, and sturdy stems for winter texture.

Light: Full sun (tolerates partial shade)
Soil: Medium to dry, well-drained

Height: 2–4 ft

Bloom time: Mid-summer to early fall
Wildlife value: Excellent nectar source for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds; seedheads feed small birds

✨ A perfect choice for sunny borders, pollinator gardens, and prairie-style plantings.
