A fine-textured, low-growing grass with a distinctive curled leaf base, adapted to the poorest, driest soils where little else will grow. An important grass for dry, rocky, or compacted areas. Small but tough and characterful. Excellent for restoration of disturbed sites and challenging slopes where other grasses fail.
