A shade-tolerant goldenrod with yellow flowers along distinctively zigzagging stems, a handsome appearance unlike any other goldenrod. One of the very few goldenrods that genuinely prefers woodland shade. Provides critical late-season nectar for woodland pollinators when few other plants are still in flower. Spreads gently by rhizomes.
