One of the best fall-blooming native plants, with masses of bright violet-blue flowers from September through frost. The aromatic foliage is naturally deer-deterring. Mounding and compact compared to most asters, it stays tidy without flopping. A favorite of migrating monarchs and one of the latest natives to bloom.
