'Running Tapestry' is one of the most beautiful and garden-worthy selections of our native Foamflower. Heart-shaped leaves are distinctly decorated with deep burgundy-maroon centers and red veining against bright green — creating a living tapestry of foliage that looks ornamental even when not in flower. In late spring, delicate wiry stems rise above the foliage carrying frothy spikes of tiny starry white flowers that shimmer in the shade garden. Unlike clumping foamflowers, 'Running Tapestry' spreads freely by stolons to form a wide, lush, weed-suppressing groundcover — an important distinction when selecting foamflowers for a groundcover role. Semi-evergreen, with foliage turning reddish-bronze as temperatures drop in fall and early winter.
